AlphaBots Week XX: T is for Twiki

If you've never seen the science fiction adventure program "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century" you'll have no idea what that means. If you did, then you're speaking this week's bot's language.

Voiced by legendary Looney Tunes voice actor Mel Blanc for most of the series's run, this ambuquad was a constant presence in the futuristic Earth of the series. Captain William Anthony "Buck" Rogers, played by the hammy Gil Gerard, was lost in space for over five hundred years after his 1987 exploratory voyage left him exposed to extremely frigid temperatures. He was revived from his cryogenic stasis in the year 2491 and became an integral part of the Earth Defense Force as it turned away threats from outer space.

Felix Silla, an Italian immigrant who toured with Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, played Cousin Itt on TV's "The Addams Family", was a stunt double for the character of Short Round in "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom," and was one of the Ewoks in "Return of the Jedi," brought Twiki's physical performance to life.
